Tonight’s travesty starts out of Brady's off Seabright. A place that we like for its plentiful supply of PBR and now we discover, a supply of Hamms. Hairy Potter and (as we later find out) Loose Stool are our hares this evening. Timmy!!!, PCP, Banana, Vince, Capt Jack, Bony, Puff, Hoggy, Daddy WarBucks, Rod Lover, Pearl, LC Norm, Finger Nips, Goat Blower, Loose Stool, Take It Like a Man, Jordass, Piss N Booth, Serial Box, Boogah, Choka, Lizardo, Broken Shaft, PG, Cumz Out Her Nose, Just Chris, Jiz Bollah, Cum & Go, TBO, Protein Stain, 6 of 9, and of course Ralph. Well, I wish I could tell you where true trail went. I can tell you that while we were lost at the first check part of trail was found down the railroad tracks with a back-check taking trail over the bushes and to Mountain View. We then followed Cayuga to the intersection from hell. Trail was found along Seabright by Banana and Bony who were trying to short-cut trail. I think we then cut across to Woods St and trail just went down hill from there. While plenty of flour was thrown its just ridiculous to the 6 blots of flour and lead it to a false marked in purple chalk with line being no longer than 3 inches. At a certain point we started guessing at trail. I took a risk trying to find the first beer-check by heading down Fredrick St hoping it would be at the Park but I was wrong (sorta, more later). As I trudged North hoping to re-join the pack (or to go home, whichever happened first). I was fortunate to find the pack at the end of Sumner Ave arriving at the first beer check at Loose Stools apartment. Word is that once we find the first beer-check the second should be easy right? Norm, Pearl, and I leave the beer-check early and continue on trail. As we head East on Gault my overwhelming desire to GO HOME made it difficult to continue. A check at Darwin St sent us down the alley next to the library to Hanover St. Hanover lead us to Fredrick St where the Hares marked trail on left. Taking a guess our trio headed to the park and it turns out we guessed right. True Trail was a right on Soquel and a quick circle-jerk through Arana Gultch. By the time the DFLs had arrived most of the beer was gone. On-In was finally called when I told Norm I was bored and I would be waiting at Brady's. As the sun had set we made it back to the place across from Bradys we are horrified to find Finger had lost her key to the Beer Wagon. As she took off to retrieve her spare, everyone headed to Brady's, and Jordass showed up. I wrote the shit-list for the evening and said goodnight! 5:20 am was only 8 hours away. What went wrong on trail: Although there are no standards or rules, come on, two blots for falses and if you want to do more, make it a YBF but make it worth it! Unless you are Finger Nips or BJ it’s rather ridiculous to go anywhere near 100 paces before throwing your first flour off a check. Use chalk that people can see. If you lay a false make sure people can see it! Yeah the false is what is supposed to throw people off, not the 20 minutes trying to figure out where the flour went. Keep the pack together. On long trails there is nothing more boring for an FRB to have to sit around waiting for the DFLs/walkers because the Hares didn't give them an option. Adequately stock your Beer-Checks. Packs have been near 50 lately. Even if it’s PBR at least everyone gets a reward for the effort. This rant being over I must also ask for volunteers to sub for me during the summer. I won't know what hours I am working Thursdays until Wednesday afternoon (usually, its hard to explain life in the transit business). This is good practice for someone thinking of joining mismanagement. Although I do sometimes enjoy writing these trashes, it’s a lot of work for a solid year (just ask Puff).
